Mrs. Pearl Louise Broussard Murphy passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at 6:20 pm at her home in Prairieville surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 78, a native of Hobart and retired from Neese Industries in Gonzales. Visitation will take place at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales on Monday, June 19 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement from 9:00 am until Mass at 11:00 am conducted by Fr. Jason Palermo. Interment will follow at French Settlement Community Cemetery....

Mrs. Pearl Louise Broussard Murphy passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at 6:20 pm at her home in Prairieville surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 78, a native of Hobart and retired from Neese Industries in Gonzales. Visitation will take place at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales on Monday, June 19 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement from 9:00 am until Mass at 11:00 am conducted by Fr. She is survived by a son, Robert Murphy and daughter-in-law Denise of Prairieville; sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Walter Leftwich of Prairieville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Perry Guillory of Prairieville; two special grandchildren, Krystal Lynn Henderson and husband Jules and Nicholas Terry Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Kayden Adam Roussel and Kenzlee Lynn Henderson and twins arriving in December and special friend, Joe Comeaux. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Terry Murphy; parents, Belton ""Bob"" Broussard and Stella Mae White Broussard; sisters, Nita Broussard, Rita Desporte and brother-in-law, Frank Desporte; brother, Alvin ""Bud"" Broussard and sister-in-law, Stella Ann Poche Broussard and great-grandson, Remi Lane Roussel. Pallbearers are Nicholas Murphy, Kayden Roussel, Alvin Broussard, Bryce Broussard, Chase Broussard, Jason Broussard, and Jules Henderson. Honorary Pallbearers are Walter Leftwich, Joe Comeaux, Teddy Desporte, Jim Burleigh, Earl Broussard, Ricky Deville, Perry Guillory and Aubrey Guitreau.
