Irvin Joseph Smith, a native of Ville Platte and resident of Gonzales, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the age of 81. He was a kind and loving person who enjoyed spending time with his family. Irvin was an avid amateur photographer and self-taught programmer as well as a devoted LSU and Saints football fan. He served in the US Airforce as a crypto Operator and received the Good Conduct Award. Irvin worked at FG Sullivan Contractors for over 50 years. Irvin Joseph Smith, a native of Ville Platte and resident of Gonzales, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the age of 81. He was a kind and loving person who enjoyed spending time with his family. Irvin was an avid amateur photographer and self-taught programmer as well as a devoted LSU and Saints football fan. He is survived by his son, Michael Smith; faithful companion of 20 years, Jacquelyn; sister, Emma Joy Rider and husband Callin; god child, Keith Rider.
