Clarence "C J" Parent, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge after a long battle with cancer.
Clarence was born October 5, 1947. He was a native of Dutchtown and resident of Galvez.
A music lover and a Swamp Pop Musician in the Ascension Parish area for over 50 years, C J
played guitar and was lead vocal in many bands, the last one being "The Cruzzin Band."

Clarence "C J" Parent, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge after a long battle with cancer.
Clarence was born October 5, 1947. He was a native of Dutchtown and resident of Galvez.

C J gave many hours to the Ascension Parish Sr. Sock Hop at Lamar Dixon and gave his time and talent at many benefits for the needy.
C J is survived by Lynette Becegeay Parent, wife of 13 years; mother, Rosanna Parent; brothers, Kenneth and Charles Parent; cousin / brother, Frankie King; sisters, Carolyn Shook, Cathy (Curtis) Hatcher, Claudia Helget,
Celeste (Rick) Harris and Karla (Mark) Metz; step-daughter, Sarah (Trevor) Mayon; step-son, Kristian (Alicia) Mayon; step-grandchildren, Dylan Mayon, Blair Guillot and Lucus Mayon and brothers-in-law, Charles (Kathline) Bercegeay and Donnie (Janet) Bercegeay.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Parent, Sr.; brother-in-law, Percy Shook and step son, Dwain Dupuis, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth and Charles Parent, Frankie King, Nolan Babin,Sr. and Eric and Mark Petite.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Ourso Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
Visitation will resume Tuesday at Ourso's from 9:00 am until the 11:00 am service conducted by Pastor Mark Goins with interment at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Hwy 30, Gonzales.
