Betty Millet Richie, 86, passed away September 14, 2016 at Carpenter House. She was born August 8, 1930 in Lake, LA. Mrs. Richie was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who put others first. She loved her family, fishing and doing puzzles. Betty was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Betty Millet Richie, 86, passed away September 14, 2016 at Carpenter House. She was born August 8, 1930 in Lake, LA. Mrs. Richie was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who put others first. She loved her family, fishing and doing puzzles. Betty was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Survivors include her son Randy Richie (Annette) of Pierre Part; step-son Mike Riche of San Diego, CA; sister-in-law Peggy Riche of Baker, LA; grandchildren Matthew Richie of Watson, LA; Ashley Major (Derek) of Denham Springs, LA; great-grandchildren Charli Richie of Watson, LA and Owen M. Major of Denham Springs, LA; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Harold Richie; parents James A. Millet and Mamie Atkinson Millet; sister Audrey Manuel and daughters Tammy and Cynthia Richie. Pallbearers will be Barry Zito, Artie Hudson, Matt Richie, Jason Riche, Eddie Reynolds and George Braud. Thanks to her personal caretakers, Jeanette Smith, Laurie Scott, Lynda Hills, Ruby Varise as well as the staff of Carpenter House. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 8:45Am - 10:30AM at St. Mark Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. Rubin Reynolds celebrant, beginning at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum in Baton Rouge, LA. Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales is in charge of arrangements. Please offer condolences to the family at www.oursofh.com.
